Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Minnesota. This role requires 2+ years of ED experience and active TNCC/NIHSS certifications. The RN will work in a Level 3 trauma, teaching hospital ED serving both adult and pediatric patients. Day shifts 11:00 to 23:30, with every third weekend and no on-call.

Required MN RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS/TNCC certifications, and ability to provide references. Housing allowance and travel expenses may be provided.

Qualifications

• Active MN RN license required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC.
• Minimum 2 years ED experience.
• Must provide DOB, SSN, certs, Nursys verification, and RTO at consideration.
• At least one supervisor reference required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level 3 trauma, teaching hospital Emergency Department serving adult and pediatric patients.
• Treats patients with trauma, injury, and urgent medical, mental health, or chemical dependency needs.
• Specialties include neuro, cardiac, and mental health emergencies.
• Patient ratio of 3:1 on all shifts.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:30.
• Required to work every third weekend.
• No on‑call requirements.
• Uses Epic (Excellian) for charting.
• Provide emergency care across a broad range of medical, trauma, and behavioral health cases.
• May float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and active TNCC/NIHSS certifications.

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: ENPC, SANE
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the ED specialty required
• Experience with ventilated patient care preferred
• Skills required include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and triage
• Experience with ED boarding and ICU-level care preferred
• Must provide date of birth, SSN, copy of certifications, Nursys verification, and RTO at time of consideration
• At least one supervisor reference required

• Previous perm staff or per diem employees must have a 3-month gap since their last shift before reapplying
