Job summary

Porter Hospital in Indiana is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel assignment in a 30-bed ED.

You will provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care; perform assessments and administer medications per orders; document in Cerner and collaborate with the care team. The role requires RN licensure with current certifications and at least 1 year in ED, plus travel eligibility from outside a 50-mile radius.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC required.
• NIHSS required.
• Cerner EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient, compassionate emergency care.
• Perform patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity.
• Administer medications and treatments per orders.
• Monitor patients and recognize changes in condition promptly.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Cerner.
• Float to other areas as required by facility needs.

Unit Size: 30 beds

Typical Patient Ratio: 1:4

Shift: Mids – 3:00 PM–3:00 AM

RTO: Maximum of 1 week

RTO Blackout Dates: None

Required Holidays: None

• Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate emergency care.
• Perform patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity.
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders.
• Monitor patients and recognize changes in condition promptly.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations and rapidly changing patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and follow-up care.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in Cerner.
• Float to other areas as required by facility needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience
• BLS ,ACLS ,PALS OR ENPC – Required
• NIHSS – Required
• Cerner EMR experience
• Strong emergency nursing assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
