Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is hiring an ER Travel RN for a 13-week Emergency Department assignment on night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) in Virginia. The role requires 2–3 years of ER experience and prior travel assignments.

You’ll work 36 hours per week in a 27-bed ED with patient ratios of 4–6:1, no floating or on-call, and a schedule including four weekends per four weeks. In addition to competitive pay, travel perks and housing options are provided.

Qualifications

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• ENPC, NRP, NIH certifications preferred
• 2–3 years of recent ER experience required
• 2–3 completed travel assignments required
• Experience in high acuity, fast-paced, high-volume ERs preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care across high-acuity conditions including stroke, sepsis, trauma, and psychiatric cases
• Team environment described as relaxed, friendly, and collaborative
• Perform RSI, sepsis interventions, and stroke protocols with tPA administration; manage central lines
• Support scheduling with four weekend shifts within a four-week period
• No floating and no on-call requirements

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position on night shift, requiring 2-3 years of ER experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• 13-week travel assignment in a 27-bed Emergency Department

• Staffed with 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics on nights, with additional coverage added during peak day shift hours
• Typical procedures include RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, psych patient care, and EMTALA transfers
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements
• Weekend commitment of four weekend shifts (Friday or Saturday for nights) within a four-week scheduling period

• Scrub color required: navy blue or white
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• No local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers not eligible for this position due to travel assignment history requirement
