Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with active Illinois licensure and a minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience for a day shift position in Illinois.

Candidates must hold BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC or TNS certifications, graduate from an accredited nursing program with verification, and be prepared to float to Mercyhealth IL locations as needed, with weekend and holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and either TNCC or TNS.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with education verification required.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Room setting within a hospital and trauma center.
• Day Shift schedule (7:00A - 7:30P) with weekend and holiday rotation.
• May be required to float to other Mercyhealth hospital locations in IL.
• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care.
• Develops and executes individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physician or clinic policy, including patient and family instruction.
• Participates in department performance improvement activities and shared governanceProvides clinical expertise and guidance to other units in support of patients' longitudinal plan of care.
• Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through appropriate chain of command.
• Participates in professional nursing continuum activities, unit practice decisions, and peer review processes.
• Holiday coverage required as part of rotation.
