Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for night shifts. Active VA or compact RN license and 1 year ED experience are required, plus BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIHSS credentials. TNCC preferred and Meditech charting experience is a plus.

You’ll work in a general ED caring for adult and pediatric patients, on a 3x12 night schedule with weekend requirements. This role includes housing allowances and travel reimbursements where applicable.

Qualifications

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, and NIHSS.
• TNCC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a general, non-trauma ED for adult and pediatric patients.
• Work night shift: 3x12 hours, 1900–0700 with every other weekend.
• Utilize latest monitoring equipment for safe, efficient care.
• Perform EKG reading, blood product administration, IV therapy, and CVA care.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications.

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or compact) required
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, and NIHSS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and medication administration preferred
• Experience with respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, ABG interpretation) preferred
• Experience with neurological care including CVA, neuro-trauma, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience in trauma or pediatric emergency settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in a general, non-trauma Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 1900-0700) with every other weekend required
• Meditech charting system preferred
• Utilizes latest monitoring equipment for safe and efficient care
• Skills used include EKG reading/monitoring, blood product administration, IV therapy, CVA care, triage, and PPE protocols
• Provide 24/7 emergency care to critically ill and injured patients of all ages in a fast-paced ED setting
• Work alongside specially-trained emergency physicians and nurses in a comfortable, private treatment room environment
• RTO policy requires working at least one holiday if one falls during the assignment, with increasing requirements for multiple holidays
• General RN orientation occurs every other Monday
• Zero-tolerance drug policy, including no acceptance of medical marijuana cards, with drug screening required both during compliance and on day one
• Fit testing is required and candidates must be clean-shaven, with limited exemptions requiring provider documentation approved in advance
• Candidates who previously worked a permanent position at the facility within the past 24 months will not be considered
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
