Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department role in Texas. The position requires charge nurse experience, a TX or compact RN license, and TNCC with ACLS/BLS; PALS/NIHSS are a plus. This Level IV trauma ED handles adult and pediatric patients with a 1:4 ratio.

Shift: Day schedule, 3x12s (noon–midnight), 4x/week; block schedule with some weekends. Navy blue scrubs; free parking. Travel-friendly with housing options and travel/licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission.
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required.
• Previous Charge Nurse experience required.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC.
• PALS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency care including trauma, cardiac monitoring, respiratory, neurological and psychiatric conditions.
• IV therapy, central line care, and dysrhythmia interpretation skills required.
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in the last 3 years.
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Level IV Trauma Center ED caring for adult and pediatric patients.
• Short term acute care with 49 staffed beds.
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from noon to midnight, 4 shifts per week.
• Block schedule with weekends as needed.
• Patient ratio 1:4; no unit-floating and no on-call requirements.
• Epic EMR used; provide emergency care for trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neuro and behavioral cases.
• Manage triage, splinting and isolation precautions daily.
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; free parking available.
• Must commit to 3 of 5 major holidays; RTO requests must be upfront.
• First-time travelers not considered; distance-based considerations within 50 miles.
• Former staff must wait 3 months before returning as traveler and reside >50 miles away.

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and behavioral health cases
• Manage triage, splinting, and isolation precautions as part of daily responsibilities
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
• Candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate if located within 50 miles of the facility
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Can only be submitted to one Providence facility at a time
