Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Emergency Department role in Tennessee. Requires at least 1 year of ER experience and EPIC EMR proficiency, with active TN license or compact license and relevant certifications.

The position involves night shifts (3x12 or 4x12, 1900-0730) and coverage every other weekend. Expect to work across adult and pediatric emergencies, with potential cross-unit assignments based on census and patient needs.

Qualifications

• Active TN RN license or compact license required.
• 1 year of Emergency Department experience required.
• 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required.
• 2 years of charge experience required.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI, PALS.
• TNCC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Treat a mixed adult/pediatric population in a non-trauma, STEMI and Stroke Certified facility.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 1900-0730.
• Weekend coverage every other weekend, subject to change based on needs.
• Patient ratio 1:4:1.
• Use Omnicell and EPIC documentation systems.
• May float to other units based on census needs.
• Provide emergency nursing care for trauma, cardiac events, strokes, psychiatric crises, and pediatric emergencies.
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and current EPIC EMR proficiency.

Requirements

• Active TN RN license or compact license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI, PALS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• 2 years of previous charge experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and trauma presentations
• Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration required
• Experience managing dysrhythmias, obtaining 12-lead EKGs, and administering emergency medications required

Responsibilities

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric population in a non-trauma, STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 1900-0730
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
• Patient ratio of 1:4:1
• Uses Omnicell medication system and EPIC documentation system
• Floating to other units may be required based on facility census needs
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac events, strokes, psychiatric crises, and pediatric emergencies
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as part of daily responsibilities
• Manage patients requiring procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, and ventilator care
• Apply splints and assist with orthopedic injury management
• Orientation occurs every Monday with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers will be considered based on skill and experience level
