Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift role requiring 3+ years of ED experience, Cerner proficiency, and at least one prior travel assignment.

The role covers adult, pediatric, geriatric, and psychiatric care in a mixed ED setting. Night shifts 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30) with every other weekend and holiday. Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate.

Qualifications

• Active MD RN license or compact RN license required.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS.
• 3+ years of ED experience required (4-5 years preferred).
• Certifications in stroke care and TNK administration are noted as desirable.
• Cerner charting system experience required.
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment.
• Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with ≥80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms is required.
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, respiratory care, and administration of emergency medications.

Responsibilities

• Treat a combined adult/pediatric population in the Emergency Department.
• Multi-function ED coverage including Geriatric, Pediatric, and Psych patients; cross-area comfort.
• Night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Provide emergency care across adult, pediatric, geriatric, and psychiatric populations.
• Perform procedural sedation and monitoring as needed.
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required.
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate.
• MedStar travel policy restrictions for former employees.

• 3+ years of ED experience required (4-5 years of strong ED experience preferred)
• Additional experience required in stroke care and TNK administration
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, respiratory care, and administration of emergency medications
• Preferred skills: blood product administration, central line care/management, care of ventilated patients, and triage experience
