Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for night shift in a fast-paced 31-bed ED. 2+ years ER experience is required, with Epic proficiency and prior travel nursing exposure.

Active NH or compact RN license, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS, and TNCC/PALS certifications are essential; TNCC within 1 year if not held. IV therapy, phlebotomy, and strong emergency meds administration skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Active NH or compact RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• TNCC and PALS certifications; TNCC required within 1 year of hire if not already held.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Minimum 2 years ER experience required.
• Prior travel nurse assignment experience required; Epic charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• 31-bed Emergency Department serving all patient age groups (pediatric to adult).
• Treats illnesses, injuries, or trauma including CVA, psychiatric, drug overdose, and respiratory cases.
• Uses Epic, PYXIS, and SBAR for communication.
• Night shift 19:00–07:30; 4x12 hours.
• Every other weekend required; float based on unit needs.
• Assess, intervene, and stabilize patients requiring critical decisions in emergencies.
• Completes orientation specific to Emergency Services.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of ER experience, Epic proficiency, and prior travel assignment experience.

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• PALS and TNCC certifications preferred; TNCC required within 1 year of hire if not already held
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nurse assignment experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and emergency medication administration
• Experience with intubation and respiratory care preferred
• References required, with one pending reference accepted to begin the process

Responsibilities

• 31-bed Emergency Department serving all patient age groups, pediatric through adult
• Treats patients presenting with a variety of illnesses, injuries, or trauma including CVA, psychiatric, drug overdose, and respiratory cases
• Utilizes Epic, PYXIS, and SBAR communication
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Must be willing to float based on unit needs
• Assess, intervene, and stabilize patients requiring critical clinical decision-making in emergency situations
• Completes a competency-based orientation program specific to Emergency Services
• No scrub color preference
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
• Former employees of any facility within the associated health system are not eligible, regardless of separation length
• Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for the local rate
• Drug screening must be completed within 14 days of the start date
