Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Room RN for an 8-week evening contract in Illinois. Requires prior travel nursing experience and Epic proficiency. IL RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC/NIHSS, 2+ years ER experience, 1 travel assignment completed, and Epic EMR experience are required.

This position involves 12-hour evening shifts and weekend rotation. New grads are not considered; date of birth and two references (one from travel) are requested.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license is required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years ER experience; 4+ years preferred.
• Epic EMR experience is required.
• New graduates will not be considered.
• Date of birth is required for consideration.
• Two professional references, one from most recent travel assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency department nursing care across a range of patient presentations.
• Work in the ER department in a hospital setting.
• Evening 12-hour shifts from 3:00pm–3:00am with rotating weekends.
• No floating or on-call requirements.
• Holiday coverage with a minimum of 3 shifts between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.
• First-time travelers are not considered; returning staff must have been away 12 months.
• Facility conducts a brief interview as part of hiring.

• BLS certification must be from American Heart Association or American Red Cross only
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required, 4+ years preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required with at least 1 completed travel assignment
• Epic EMR experience required
• New graduates will not be considered
• Date of birth required for consideration
• 2 professional references required, with 1 reference mandatory from most recent travel assignment

Responsibilities

• Emergency Room department in a hospital setting
• Evening shift, 12-hour shifts from 3:00pm-3:00am
• Rotating weekend requirements
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide emergency department nursing care across a range of patient presentations

• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days during the 8-week contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have been away for 12 months to be considered as a traveler
• Facility conducts a brief interview as part of the hiring process
