American Traveler is hiring an RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department with Level II trauma experience and Epic proficiency. This travel nursing role features night shifts (12 hours, 7:00pm–7:30am), a 36-hour weekly schedule, and floating under a Helping Hands/Team Nursing model across units as needed.

The ideal candidate holds an NH state RN license or compact license, at least 2 years in ED, and certifications including ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC.

  • Pediatric ED experience strongly preferred.
  • Epic charting experience required.

  • IV therapy and phlebotomy skills essential.
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
  • Prior travel nursing experience required.
  • Certifications must be AHA or Red Cross issued only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of chief complaints including trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, and substance use cases.
  • Work as part of a team nursing model with float coverage during high-acuity periods.
  • Unit orientation consists of 36 hours over one week, including classroom and clinical time.
  • Floating may be assigned to ICU, ED support, and patient sitting duties within scope of clinical assignment.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a fast-paced, high-volume Emergency Department requiring Level II Trauma experience and Epic proficiency.

Details
  • Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department with combined adult/pediatric population
  • High-volume unit with average daily census of 70 and up to 160 visits per day across 36 rooms and 50 beds
  • Patient population spans full lifespan with diagnoses ranging from minor injuries to complex trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, and OB/GYN emergencies
  • Performs specialized procedures including conscious sedation, trauma/stroke alerts, cath lab activation, and SANE consultations
  • Uses specialized equipment such as Point of Care US/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology
  • Utilizes Epic for documentation, Omnicell for medication management, SBAR for communication, and Voalte for staff communication
  • Night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts (7:00pm-7:30am), 3x12 hours per week, totaling 36 hours
  • No on-call requirements
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating expected under a Helping Hands/Team Nursing model, which may include float assignments to ICU, ED support, and patient sitting duties within scope of clinical assignment
Requirements
  • Active NH state RN license or compact license required

  • Pediatric ED experience strongly preferred given high PEDS population
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC
  • Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency medication administration
  • Proficient in triage and neurological/CVA patient care
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Certifications must be AHA or Red Cross issued only
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of chief complaints including trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, and substance use cases
  • Work as part of a team nursing model with support for float coverage during high-acuity periods
  • Unit orientation consists of 36 hours over one week, including classroom and clinical time
  • Scrubs of any color are permitted
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Candidates who have previously worked as employees within the associated health system are not eligible, regardless of time since separation
  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced local rate
  • Drug screening must be completed within 14 days of the start date
