American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an Emergency Department RN with Cerner experience for a 13-week travel contract. Active MD or compact RN license and required ED certifications are essential. The role includes day shift hours and weekend/holiday coverage in a general ED.

The candidate should have at least 2 years of ED experience, prior travel assignment, and Cerner EMR proficiency, with pediatric/trauma exposure preferred. Local candidates considered with higher local rate.

Competenze

• Active RN license MD or compact required.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS certifications required.
• Preferred CPI and TNCC certifications.
• Minimum 2 years ED experience within last 7 years.
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment.
• Cerner charting system experience required.
• Community hospital experience required.
• Teaching hospital/Level I trauma/Level II trauma experience preferred.
• Two supervisory references, incl. one from most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in 3 years.
• Experience with pediatric emergencies, IV therapy, respiratory care, neuro emergencies, cardiac monitoring, triage, orthopedic trauma.

Mansioni

• Treat both adult and pediatric patients in a General ED.
• Maintain patient ratio of 1:4–6.
• Work day shifts: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM.
• Cover weekends every other weekend; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle (Fri/Sat nights).
• Holiday coverage required.
• Orientation held every Monday.
• Use Cerner EMR for charting.
• Deliver emergency care across trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and psych emergencies.
• Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management.

• Teaching hospital, LTAC, Level I Trauma, and Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
• Experience with pediatric emergency conditions, IV therapy, respiratory care, neurological emergencies, cardiac monitoring, triage, and orthopedic trauma

Responsibilities

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, totaling 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Holiday coverage required
• Orientation held every Monday
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Scrubs not provided; required color is Royal Blue
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• Candidates living within 60 miles are considered local and accepted at a lower rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, and no more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted
