American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined Med/Surg and ER role in Nebraska. Must hold a NE or compact RN license and multiple specialty certifications. The full-time position covers 36 hours weekly with 5p–5a shifts and weekend/holiday rotations.

Responsibilities include direct patient care across Med/Surg, ER, LDR, and Nursery, with EHR and barcode medication administration. Housing is limited; benefits include health/dental/vision, 401(k), and CEUs.

Qualifications

• Active NE or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current certifications: CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, TNCC.

Responsibilities

• Cross-trained role covering Med/Surg, ER, LDR, and Nursery units.
• Provide total patient care when assigned to any area.
• Direct patient care in ER following demonstrated competence.
• Neonatal and obstetrical care through labor, delivery, and post-partum.
• Provide newborn care and use EHR with barcode scanning.
• Shift 5p-5a, 3 days per week (36 hours); weekends/holidays required.
• Assist physicians and nursing team in planning and evaluating patient care.
• Document and transcribe orders; maintain accurate patient records.
• Assist in training and orientation of new staff; participate in QA.

• Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Room following demonstration of competence
• Provides obstetrical care through labor, delivery, and post-partum stages after demonstration of competence
• Provides newborn care
• Uses electronic health system with barcode scanning for medication administration
• Shift is 5p-5a, 3 days per week (36 hours)
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Performs nursing care including administering treatments, medications, and assisting with examinations
• Assists physicians and nursing team in planning, providing, and evaluating patient care
• Documents and transcribes physician orders and maintains accurate patient records
• Assists in training and orientation of new employees
• Participates in Quality Assurance activities and required in-service programs
• Neat, clean uniform required for patient care
• Indoor, smoke-free patient care environment with frequent exposure to biohazardous materials and communicable diseases
• Housing options are limited; motel/hotel accommodations recommended
• On-call rooms are limited and available upon request
