Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department assignment in Virginia. Candidates must hold a Virginia RN license (or compact) and have 1–2 years of ER experience. Night shifts and travel requirements apply.

The role requires ACLS/BLS certifications and strict adherence to the hospital's policies, including random drug screening and consent forms. Housing allowance and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Virginia (VA or compact license required).
• ACLS, BLS, CPI/Handle with Care, NIHSS, and PALS or ENPC certifications required.
• 1-2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
• ER experience required.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in a 34-bed ED with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Manage care for chest pain, CHF, COPD, and psychiatric conditions.
• Use Medhost EHR for documentation and orders.
• Work night shifts 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; every other weekend.
• Respond to call as needed and float as required.
• Deliver emergency nursing care to patients of all ages.
• Supervised by the Director of Emergency Services.

Responsibilities

• Acute-care hospital Emergency Department serving all patient ages
• 34-bed unit with a 1:5 patient ratio
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, CHF, COPD, and psychiatric conditions
• Uses Medhost EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Call requirements as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Deliver emergency nursing care to patients of all ages within a full-service acute-care hospital
• Supervised by the Director of Emergency Services
• Consent to random on-site drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form required
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
