American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg with ER role at a critical access hospital in Nebraska. The position requires 2+ years of nursing experience and multiple specialty certifications.

The role features a night shift (5p–5a), three days per week (36 hours), plus weekend and holiday rotations. An active NE or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS/TNCC/NRP/STABLE are required. Housing is limited and on-call rooms are scarce.

Qualifications

• Active NE or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NRP, and STABLE.
• Strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Critical access hospital setting covering Med/Surg, ER, LDR, and Nursery units.
• Responsible for total patient care when assigned to ER, Med/Surg, LDR, or Nursery.
• Night shift schedule, 5p-5a, 3 days/week (36 hrs).
• Weekend and holiday rotation required.
• Documents medications using barcode scanning in the electronic health system.
• Provides direct patient care including administering treatments, medications, and assisting with examinations.
• Cares for obstetrical patients through labor, delivery, and post-partum stages after demonstrated competence.
• Provides newborn care after demonstrated competence.
• Performs ER procedures and therapeutic treatments following demonstration of competence.
• Assists in training and orientation of new employees.
• Participates in quality assurance initiatives, in-service programs, and educational workshops.
• Works in an indoor, smoke-free patient care environment with frequent exposure to biohazardous materials and communicable diseases.
• Housing is limited; candidates are encouraged to research local motel/hotel options.
• On-call rooms are limited and available upon request.
