Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an RN for a combined ER/Med Surg unit in a 25-bed facility in South Dakota. The role requires ACLS, BLS, TNCC, NRP certifications and a SD license, with at least two years of ER and Med Surg experience.

Shift is day/night 12-hour rotations, 36 hours/week with every other weekend and holidays. Onsite housing may be provided; travel allowances and licensure reimbursements are offered.

Qualifications

• Active SD or compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required before start
• TNCC certification required
• NRP certification required, onsite completion may be approved
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required
• 6 months of ER experience within the past year required
• 6 months of Med Surg experience within the past year required

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting covering combined ER/Med Surg unit with 25 beds
• EPIC EMR used for charting along with Sanford One Chart and Pixis medication systems
• Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• 3 call shifts required during the 13-week contract
• Floats between ER and Med Surg units
• Med Surg nurse to patient ratio typically 3-4 to 1 depending on census and acuity
• Functions independently in ER and manages up to 5 patients in Med Surg
• Provide nursing care across both ER and Med Surg units, including independent ER functioning
• Training includes EPIC computer training, 1 day of ER training, and 1 day of Med Surg training
• Navy scrub dress code required, no logos; white may be worn under uniform or as a lab coat
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• Accepts local candidates within an 80-mile radius at a reduced bill rate
• Candidates who previously worked for the health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
