Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with PA or compact license and at least 2 years of ER specialty experience for a general ED role.

The position requires active PA or compact RN licensure, multiple certifications, and Epic charting proficiency. Day shifts are 11:00–23:30 with weekend/holiday rotation; travel and distance restrictions apply. Navy scrubs, fingerprints, and 12-lead ECG capability are expected.

Qualifications

• Active PA state RN license or compact license required at time of consideration.
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required (5 years required for night shift).
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC.
• Preferred certification: NRP.
• Epic charting experience required.
• BSN preferred.
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care.
• Skilled in respiratory management including BiPAP/CPAP and care of ventilated patients.
• Skilled in administration of emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation monitoring.
• Proficient in obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions/PPE
• Nebulizer treatment administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Combined adult/pediatric general emergency department setting.
• Day shift schedule of 4x12 hour shifts (11:00-23:30) with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
• May be floated to another LVHN facility (Macungie).
• Epic charting system used.
• Manages cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure patients.
• Handles neurological emergencies including CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury.
• Manages psychiatric emergencies including drug overdose, violent behavior, and suicidal patients.
• Performs triage and manages orthopedic trauma including splinting.
• PA Fingerprints (Childline and FP clearance) required within 1 week; results dated within 12 months of start.
• Pass/Fail clinical exam with max 3 attempts; no remediation.
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Candidates must reside within 50 mile radius; local candidates accepted at a different rate.
• First-time travelers are not considered.
