Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Level 2 trauma Emergency Department with a 22-bed unit in Fort Myers, FL. The role requires 2+ years of ED experience and an active FL or compact RN license, with certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS.

Epic EMR is used for clinical documentation and orders. Shifts are 12 hours (9A–9P), three per week, with mandatory travel and floating to nearby campuses within 15–20 minutes.

Qualifications

• Active FL or compact RN license is required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS certifications required.
• TNCC and ENPC certifications preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience in similar facilities.
• Documentation of degree or 5 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Prior travel experience preferred.
• Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Staff a Level 2 trauma ED with a 22-bed unit and high-acuity care.
• Maintain patient ratios of 3-4:1 and provide care for complex cases.
• Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation and orders.
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 9A to 9P, three shifts per week.
• Travelers float first and may float to sister campuses within 15–20 minutes.

• Degree accreditation must be documented, or 5 years of experience required in lieu of this
• Prior travel experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Level 2 trauma Emergency Department with a 22-bed unit
• High acuity ED caring for complex patients
• Patient ratios of 3-4:1
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour day shifts from 9A to 9P, 3 shifts per week
• Floating required, with travelers first to float and possible floating to sister campuses within 15-20 minutes of the facility
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the position
• All candidates must submit full demographic information including address, email, DOB, SSN, and RN license number for consideration
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront, as the facility will not approve RTO after submission
• Orientation begins on a Friday with remote training, requiring in-person attendance for badge/ID
• Hard document deadline is the Monday prior to start date, with no exceptions for pending documentation
• Travelers are expected to integrate into the unit and function as core staff
• Flexibility and teamwork are highly valued in this unit's culture
