Aufgaben

• Provide direct emergency nursing care in a Level IV trauma center.
• Triage and treat 35+ patients daily with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Administer cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia drips.
• Support RT staff with vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow equipment 24/7.
• Perform phlebotomy and lab draws; collaborate with physicians and staff.
• Work night shifts with 12-hour shifts; participate in self- and block scheduling.
• Cover a minimum of six weekends per six-week schedule and holiday shifts.
• Utilize EPIC EMR for patient documentation and care coordination.

• Must demonstrate TNCC and NIHSS skills proficiency

• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility

Responsibilities

• Acute care Emergency Department setting, Level IV trauma center
• 15 ED beds plus 2 trauma bays with a Fast Track and separate Triage area
• Separate Psych/seclusion rooms available with 24/7 in-house security
• Treats 35+ patients per day with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
• Administers cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia drips
• RT staff available 24/7 managing vents, CPAP, BiPap, and High Flow equipment
• Both phlebotomy and RN staff perform lab draws
• Charge nurse takes a patient assignment
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
• Minimum of six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating within Zone 1 may be required based on department need
• Call or standby requirements determined by nurse manager
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Provide direct emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute presentations
• Perform triage duties in a separate triage area as needed
• Collaborate with RT, physicians, mid-levels, and support staff dependent on shift
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Orientation date and department-specific details assigned during orientation week
• Clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation even if initial modules are remote
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Candidates who have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year are not eligible
