American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level IV Trauma Center in Milwaukee. Requires 3+ years of fast-paced ED experience and multiple advanced certifications.

This travel assignment features 12-hour shifts, Epic EMR, and a multidisciplinary team; NIHSS, TNCC, PALS, ACLS, and BLS are highly valued. Local candidates may be considered; WI compact licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Active WI or compact RN license is required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC.
• Minimum 3 years of ED experience in a fast-paced facility.
• NIHSS experience required prior to start.
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and IV skills.
• Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• 12-hour day shift schedule (0700-1930), 40 hours per week.
• 35-bed unit with fast track rooms and high patient volume.
• Care for neonate to geriatric patients with diverse ED diagnoses.
• Care for trauma, STEMI, stroke, and critical presentations.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios 1:4 (day/night) and 1:6 in fast track.
• Support staff including ED physicians and ED educators.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level IV Trauma Center requiring 3+ years of fast-paced ED experience and multiple advanced certifications.

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Minimum 3 years of ED experience in a fast-paced facility required
• NIHSS experience required prior to start (cannot be obtained after)
• Skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV insertion, critical care drip administration, TPA administration, blood administration, procedural sedation, and code blue response
• Triage experience strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate's middle name/initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• 12-hour day shift schedule (0700-1930), 40 hours per week
• 35-bed unit with 6 fast track rooms, averaging 168 patients per day
• Patient population spans neonate to geriatric with all ED diagnoses, heavy mental health caseload
• Handles invasive neuro and STEMI cases (stabilized and transferred to outside cath lab), trauma including GSW, stabbings, falls, and MVC
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (acuity based) for day and night shifts, 1:6 in fast track
• Central and bedside telemetry monitoring available
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication system
• No floating required
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 4 major holidays or every other holiday
• Level IV Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center, Geriatric Accredited Center, and teaching hospital with 228 beds
• Locked unit with security presence; ED home base located in lobby
• 24/7 support staff includes unit secretary, ED tech, charge nurse, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, ED physicians, mid-level providers, ED educator, and OT/PT/ST
• Orientation consists of two 12-hour shifts on the unit
• Scrubs of any professional color permitted
• Free parking provided in designated employee areas
• First-time travelers considered upon review for candidates with strong experience
• Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
