Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department role in Farmington, NM. The position requires a NM or Compact RN license, ACLS, PALS, BLS and TNCC certifications, and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience with ED exposure.

The ED serves a Level III trauma center with a 48-bed unit and a mix of trauma and medical cases. Night shifts 7p–7a and a minimum of two weekends per schedule are expected.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) currently in hand
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, and TNCC (must be from AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with ED experience preferred
• RN ADN education required
• Must have skills in trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation care

Responsibilities

• Level III trauma center Emergency Department with 48 beds and flex space
• Patient ratios of 4:1 in Main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
• Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric cases
• Common diagnoses include substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain
• Uses Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and Istat POC, and ultrasound guided IV equipment
• Utilizes Cerner EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7p to 7a
• Minimum of two weekends per schedule required
• No call requirements
• No float requirements
• Team nursing and pod system with dedicated social worker and unit educator
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of trauma and medical cases
• Facility serves the Four Corners region spanning New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
• Various Trauma Level I, II, and III cases are flown into the facility due to its location
• Work alongside an Interim ED Manager and Clinical Coordinator
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
