Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift at a STEMI/Stroke certified facility in North Carolina.

Candidates must hold an active NC or compact RN license and possess BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications, with at least two years of ER experience and EPIC charting proficiency. The role includes a 3x12 night schedule (7p-7:30a), 1:4 patient ratios, and potential float to Cone Health campuses.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years ER RN experience required.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• STEMI and Stroke facility experience required.
• Education must be third-party verified; Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list exclusions apply.
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility; no local candidates accepted.

Responsibilities

• Treat Emergency Department patients including adults and pediatrics.
• Non-trauma ER in STEMI/Stroke certified facility.
• Care for cancer, sepsis, medical, and behavioral health cases.
• Night shift 3x12 hours (7p-7:30a) with occasional 3p-3a.
• Patient ratio 1:4.
• May float to any Cone Health campus as needed.
• Provide emergency nursing care for diverse acute conditions.
• Pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts).
• No on-call requirements; first-time travelers welcome.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring STEMI and Stroke facility experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ER RN experience required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• STEMI and Stroke facility experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia interpretation required
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE required
• Current driver's license required to verify address

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients of all ages
• Non-trauma ER within a STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• Patient population includes cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health cases
• Hospital offers cath lab and women's health specialties
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-730a (occasional 3p-3a as needed)
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call requirements
• EPIC EMR experience required
• May float to any Cone Health campus as needed
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute and traumatic conditions
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (pass/fail, two attempts allowed)
• Study materials for the EKG exam are not provided and candidates should prepare in advance
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
• No open background check cases permitted
• Education must be third-party verified; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list are not accepted
