Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in California. Candidates must hold a CA RN license with at least 1 year of ER experience and current ACLS/BLS/NIHSS/PALS certifications.

Epic charting experience is required and travel may involve floating between sister facilities near the contract location. The role involves 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), a 1:4 patient ratio, and weekend coverage every other weekend.

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring a CA RN license and at least 1 year of ER experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, including charge RN/lead references accepted
• Response required regarding any prior employment history with a Providence facility

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds
• General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients, non-trauma designation
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, with potential for more frequent weekends based on unit needs
• No float or on‑call requirements
• Uses Epic for charting
• Scrub color for RNs is navy blue
• Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3‑month waiting period, provided they do not live within 50 miles of the facility
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of submission; post‑submission RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50‑mile radius
