Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Dept RN for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment requiring a CA RN license, 1 year of ER experience, and Epic charting experience.

Day shift 3x12 hours starting at 12:00 PM, with weekend coverage every other weekend. Local candidates within 50 miles may have a lower rate. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements are offered.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required (compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds
• General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric, non-trauma patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours starting at 12:00 PM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, with potential for additional weekends based on unit needs
• No call requirements
• No floating required, though travelers may be asked to float between sister facilities
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Provide emergency nursing care across general adult and pediatric populations in a non-trauma ED setting
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
• Free parking available on-site
• Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-submission requests may not be accommodated
• Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
