Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CA license for an acute care hospital. Requires ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS; EDAP/ENPC and TNCC are preferred. Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience and Epic charting proficiency are required.

Position involves 3x12-hour evening shifts (14:00-02:30) with every other weekend; travel-friendly with housing and licensure reimbursements. First-time travelers welcomed, with generous benefits and support.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital with 356 staffed beds.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 14:00-02:30.
• Every other weekend required; 6-8 shifts per contract.
• May float to Pediatrics or to a sister facility within the same system.
• No on-call requirements.
• Epic EMR used; provide emergency nursing care across adult/pediatric ED settings.
• Supports trauma, stroke, and STEMI certified care environments.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CA license for an acute care hospital, requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS required; EDAP/ENPC and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and arterial line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Two supervisory references required covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years

• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
