Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Catheterization Lab position in New York. The ideal candidate holds a NY RN license and has at least 2 years of current cath lab experience.

The role requires ACLS/BLS, cath and peripheral experience including STEMI, and proficiency in EKG interpretation and hemodynamic tracing. Sedation, IV access, and EP experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Active NY RN license required (compact license not accepted)
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years current Cath Lab experience required
• 2+ years experience in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures required
• Cath and peripheral experience required, including STEMI and STEMI call experience
• Proficiency interpreting EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings required
• Conscious sedation experience required
• IV experience required
• Moderate Sedation certification highly preferred
• EP experience highly preferred
• Must have own vehicle
• Strong attendance record required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab caring for both acute inpatient and elective outpatient populations
• Care delivered by an interdisciplinary team of physicians, RNs, radiology technologists, and cardiovascular technologists
• Day shift schedule with choice of four 10-hour or five 8-hour shifts at time of offer
• Weekend rotation required every 4 weeks
• On-call required 1-2 nights per week as needed
• Facility is transitioning to Epic EMR
• Position and immobilize patients on examining table per protocol
• Continuously assess patient hemodynamics
• Perform conscious sedation and assist physicians with interventional procedures
• Mix and maintain IV/IC infusion and bolus
• Alert physicians to changes in patient status
• Recover patients to Phase I following procedures
• Staff must be available 24/7 to support emergency procedures during off hours, weekends, and holidays
• Dress code requires personal scrubs of any color with no designs, cartoons, or hoodies
• Requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start, with no more than 5 days accepted
• Candidates with permanent addresses in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties will not be considered
