Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position in a Level 1 trauma hospital. SD or Compact RN license required with 2+ years cath lab experience.

BLS/ACLS current, NLN/AACN accredited program preferred, BSN optional. Responsibilities include performing left/right heart caths, PCIs, pacemaker/ICD placements, EP procedures, TEEs, venous ablations, and peripheral angiograms using Epic EMR, Pyxis and specialized equipment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (SD or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience
• NLN or AACN accredited nursing program strongly preferred
• BSN preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide cath lab nursing in a Level 1 trauma cardiac cath lab
• Operate in an 8 fluoroscopy room and 2 procedural rooms with ~30 patients/day
• Maintain 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Work day shifts 5:30–18:00 with varying 10-hour schedules
• 1–2 on-call calls per week and one weekend call every 3–4 weeks (30-min response)
• Must be available for mandated call if not picked up
• Utilize Epic EMR with Pyxis, Philips XIM, Xcelera and other devices
• Perform left/right heart caths, PCIs, pacemaker/ICD placements, EPs, TEEs, cardioversions, venous ablations, vascular angiograms
• Unit orientation lasts 4–6 shifts
• Ceil blue scrubs provided
• Staff must badge in/out
• Sanford Health prior-employment disclosure required with end date >6 months prior
• Local candidates within 80-mile radius; first-time travelers considered

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring SD or compact RN license and at least 2 years of cath lab experience.

Requirements

• Active RN license (SD or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
• Graduation from an NLN or AACN accredited nursing program strongly preferred
• BSN preferred but not required
• Experience administering and monitoring conscious sedation and circulating in sterile environments

Responsibilities

• Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital setting in the Cardiac Cath Lab department
• Unit includes 8 fluoroscopy rooms and 2 procedural rooms, averaging 30 patients per day
• 1:1 nurse to patient ratio
• Day shift with varying 10-hour schedules (0530-1600, 0630-1700, or 0730-1800)
• On call responsibilities include 1-2 calls per week and 1 call weekend every 3-4 weeks with a 30-minute response time
• Must be available to fill mandated call if not picked up by others
• Uses Epic EMR along with Pyxis, Philips XIM monitoring system, Xcelera, ultrasounds, Angiojets, EKOS machines, and Acist contrast injection system
• Perform cardiac catheterization lab duties including left and right heart catheterizations, PCIs, temporary and permanent pacemaker placements, ICDs, EP procedures, TEEs, cardioversions, venous ablations, and peripheral vascular angiograms
• Unit-specific orientation lasts 4-6 shifts depending on experience, focusing on charting systems and physician equipment preferences
• Ceil blue scrubs provided
• All staff must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates must disclose any previous employment with Sanford Health; those with prior employment must have an end date at least 6 months before submission
• Accepts local candidates within an 80-mile radius
• First-time travelers may be considered
