American Traveler is seeking an experienced EP Lab RN for a Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Washington. Must have 2+ years EP experience and Epic proficiency.

Day shift, 4x10s, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, 1:1 patient ratio. WA RN license or compact license required, plus BLS/ACLS and EP certifications.

Qualifications

• Active WA RN license or compact license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• CVT/RCIS/RCES or RT (ARRT) certification.
• Minimum 2 years EP lab experience including scrub and ablations.
• Epic charting experience.

Responsibilities

• EP Lab setting in a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
• Diagnostic cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology lab work settings.
• Patients undergoing pacemaker/ICD implants, diagnostic EP studies, and ablation procedures.
• Ablation procedures including VT, PVC, AFib, AFlutter with transeptal approach.
• Use CARTO and Abbott Precision mapping/ablation systems; Cryo for some AFib ablations.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced EP Lab RN for a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of EP experience and Epic proficiency.

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CVT (RCIS/RCES) or RT (ARRT) certification required, preferred if not already held
• Minimum 2 years of EP lab experience required, including ability to scrub devices and ablations
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in electrophysiology procedures including arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardiac ablation, and conduction studies
• Experience with insertion/programming of AICDs and pacemaker insertion
• Experience with IABP placement/removal and Impella insertion preferred
• Scrub and circulate procedure experience required
• Experience with temporary pacer wires and GE MacLab/CardioLab systems
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Responsibilities

• EP Lab setting in a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Diagnostic cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology lab work settings
• Patients undergoing coronary device implants (pacemakers/ICDs), diagnostic EP studies, and ablation procedures
• Procedures include pacemakers, ICDs (including SQ), loop recorders, Micra pacemakers, and lead extractions with surgical support
• Ablation procedures include VT (including epicardial), PVC, AFib, Aflutter, and other atrial ablations using transeptal approach
• Uses Biosense Webster CARTO and Abbott Precision mapping/ablation systems, plus Cryo for some AFib ablations
• Equipment includes Biotronik temp pacemaker box, Siemens X300 ICE machine, laser, Impella, IABP, PA lines (Swans), Alaris IV pump, and Hemochron ACT machine
• Monitoring performed via GE CardioLab/MacLab systems
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Epic EMR required
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM with a variable day off
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements, though techs may opt into 'Late Stay' for ongoing procedures
• Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister hospitals
• Provide direct patient care for coronary device implants, diagnostic EP studies, and ablation procedures
• Work within a collaborative EP lab team supporting complex cardiac procedures
• Any color scrubs permitted; scrubs provided for OR personnel
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum RTO of 1 week, with no RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks or orientation period
• Prior UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
• Facility closes for ambulatory and surgical services on weekends and holidays
