American Traveler in Portland, OR is seeking an EP Lab Technologist with 2+ years of electrophysiology experience to assist with invasive cardiac procedures including ablations, device implants and studies.

Responsibilities include working in the EP Lab, monitoring patients, equipment setup, sterile technique, and may involve floating to affiliated sites; on-call coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of EP Technologist experience.
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA).
• RCES certification required; PALS preferred.
• Experience with cardiac stimulators, RF generators, and CRM systems.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• State license if applicable; COVID vaccination proof required.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures in the EP Lab for pediatric to geriatric patients.
• Assist with ablations, device implants, and studies.
• Monitor patients continuously with physicians and nurses.
• Prepare rooms, scrub, and maintain sterile field; stock supplies.
• Operate and maintain equipment; use PACS system.
• Float to affiliate hospitals as needed; participate in on-call coverage.
• Follow PPE and isolation protocols; participate in rapid response.

American Traveler is hiring an EP Lab Technologist with 2+ years of electrophysiology experience to assist with invasive cardiac procedures including ablations, device implants, and studies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience as an EP Technologist
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only, RQI not accepted)
• CCI RCES certification required; PALS preferred
• Experience operating a cardiac stimulator and radiofrequency generator
• Experience using CRM (continuous rhythm management) programmers
• Skilled in EKG lead placement, access site prep, vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, and AICD insertion/programming
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• State license required if applicable
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted

Responsibilities

• Work in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab performing procedures on patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Procedures include diagnostic EP studies, atrial flutter/fib ablations, PVC/SVT/VT ablations, temporary pacer placement, Watchman, Lariat, loop recorder insertion, and pacemaker/defibrillator implantation
• Patients require continuous cardiac monitoring with frequent physician, nursing, and technologist intervention
• Department operates Monday through Friday from 0645 to 1715 for routine, urgent, and emergent cases
• Outpatient procedures also performed at an affiliated Multispecialty Procedure Unit (MSPU) location, with staff expected to work at both sites
• On-call team available 7 days a week for cases outside routine hours
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
• Weeknight and weekend call required
• Potential to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
• Epic EMR experience required
• Assist EP medical staff with invasive electrophysiology procedures including arrhythmia device implantation, EP studies, and ablations
• Responsibilities include equipment setup, room circulating, scrubbing to maintain sterile field, and stocking supplies
• Maintain equipment and inventory, and utilize PACS system
• Follow isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and participate in rapid response/code team activities as needed
• Candidates may float to an affiliate hospital near the main facility; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months
• First-time travelers may be considered based on position details
