American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a registered nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU/Stepdown unit in Illinois. The role requires an active Illinois RN license and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience, with ASN required and BSN preferred.

BLS/ACLS certifications are mandatory and CVICU/ICU experience is valued. The position features a 3x12‑hour night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with weekend and holiday rotations, EPIC charting, and no mandatory floating.

• Care for CVICU/Stepdown post‑op CABG, vascular and ICU patients.

• 5–6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.
• Holiday coverage by department rotation.

• No floating required.
• Provide direct patient care including assessments and care plans.
• Perform hourly rounding and maintain a clean, organized unit.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and support peer development.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and hospital competencies.
• Must reside outside a 50‑mile radius; local candidates not accepted.
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13‑week contract.
• Contingent workers may not work continuously for more than 1 year without a break.

Responsibilities

• CVICU/Stepdown unit caring for post-op CABG, vascular, and ICU status patients
• Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0730
• 5-6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
• Holiday coverage by department rotation
• EPIC charting system used
• No floating required
• Provide direct patient care including initial assessments, individualized care plans, and ongoing evaluation of treatment
• Perform hourly rounding and maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and contribute to peer professional development
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and uphold unit and hospital competencies
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not work continuously at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service before returning
