Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular ICU RN for a night shift position in Illinois. Active IL RN license and Level 2 trauma experience are required; 2+ years of critical care experience is preferred. The role includes titrating drips, interpreting telemetry, and working with a 24/7 intensivist team.

Open heart and CRRT experience are highly preferred. This travel assignment offers housing support, per diem, licensure reimbursement, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Open heart experience preferred.
• Experience pulling sheaths preferred.
• CRRT experience highly preferred.
• Level 2 trauma experience or above required.

Responsibilities

• Care for acute CVICU patients at a Level 2 trauma facility.
• Manage post-PCI, post-bypass, and CHF cases.
• Titrate drips and interpret telemetry strips (Draeger monitors) with tele-tech support.
• RNs supported by 24/7 in-house intensivist/hospitalist and RTs in ICU/PCU.
• Utilize vents, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment.
• Utilize Allscripts EMR for patient documentation.
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
• 13-week assignment length.
• Collaborate with ICU/PCU teams and respiratory therapy.

• Care for critically ill cardiovascular patients including post-PCI, post-bypass, and CHF cases
• Collaborate with 24/7 in-house intensivist/hospitalist and dedicated ICU/PCU respiratory therapy team
• Complete 4 hours of billable computer modules prior to start, delivered the week before assignment begins
