American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU assignment in Nebraska. The role requires Nebraska or compact RN license and at least 1 year of critical care experience.

You'll work a 12-hour night shift schedule in a 16-bed ICU, with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, potential 1:1 for certain procedures, and travel housing plus licensure reimbursements. EPIC EMR is used for charting.

• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips required
• 2 professional references: one supervisor (last 12 mo) and one peer/supervisor (last 3 yrs)
• Driver's license copy required

Aufgaben

• Acute care in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU
• Nurse-to-patient ratio 1:2, with 1:1 for TPA, balloon pump or post-craniotomy care
• Patient population includes sepsis, STEMI, COVID, stroke, neurosurgery, renal/respiratory failure
• Unit uses Gaymar Hypothermia, Balloon Pump, Neuro monitoring, CRRT, Impella, EVDs, lumbar drains
• RNs titrate drips including sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, insulin
• Read and interpret telemetry strips for own patients
• Charge nurse assigns patient loads; patient care techs 1:10 ratio
• Chart with EPIC EMR; 12-hour night shifts 0630-1900 or 1830-0700
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage; floating to PCU or other areas as needed

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional 1:1 for TPA, balloon pump, or post-craniotomy recovery
• Patient population includes young adults through geriatrics with sepsis, STEMI, COVID, stroke, neurosurgery, renal failure, respiratory failure, COPD, cancer, and DKA
• Unit utilizes Gaymar Hypothermia, Arrow Balloon Pump, Camino Neuro monitoring, CRRT, Impella, EVDs, and Lumbar drains
• RNs titrate drips including sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, and insulin
• RNs are required to read and interpret their own telemetry strips
• Charge nurse present on each shift and takes a patient assignment
• Patient care techs available at a 1:10 ratio
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• 12-hour night shifts, rotating between 0630-1900 and 1830-0700
• Every other weekend required, with holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required, primarily to PCU but potentially to other hospital areas depending on skill set
• eICU remote monitoring system in use on the unit
• Provide direct bedside care in a fast-paced Cardiac ICU focused on shift report and intentional hourly rounding
• Ideal candidates are highly motivated, able to critically think through complex situations, and willing to ask questions and seek resources
• Does not require competency in all ICU specialties but requires openness to learning new skills
• Serves a culturally diverse community including Hispanic and Sudanese populations; candidates should be comfortable providing culturally sensitive care
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
• First-time travelers may be considered
