Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift position serving neonatal through geriatric patients. The role requires CRT or RRT certification, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and a minimum of two years' experience, including pediatric and adult care.

You will work 3x12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with every other weekend and holiday coverage. The candidate should be comfortable with advanced ventilator equipment and neonatal airway management, across multiple ICU

Qualifications

  • CRT or RRT certification required.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • License required if applicable.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required.
  • Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted with strong pediatric/adult experience.
  • New graduates not accepted.
  • Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and nasal CPAP/BIPAP preferred.
  • Skilled in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation.
  • Experience with chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
  • Every other weekend required as scheduled.
  • Holiday coverage required as they fall.
  • Floating within specialty and to all care areas to support RRT care as needed.
  • No on-call requirements.
  • Patient population includes neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Works across adult critical care, emergency department, and pediatrics settings.
  • Utilizes ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, high frequency jet ventilator, and high frequency oscillator.
  • Performs airway management including intubation, extubation, and suctioning.
  • Adminsisters various respiratory medications including bronchodilators and inhaled steroids.
  • Provide respiratory care across a range of conditions including ARDS, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and COVID.
  • Care for infants and children with conditions such as RSV, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and respiratory distress syndrome
  • Support high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal intubation assistance as needed
  • Assist with ECMO protocol-driven care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care team across all specialty areas
  • CPI certification preferred as part of compliance requirements
