American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a community hospital in South Carolina. The role requires 2 years of experience and NRP certification. Night shifts run 3x12s, 19:00–07:00, with floating within the hospital as needed.

Responsibilities include ventilator and airway management, arterial blood gas draws and interpretation, and caring for ARDS, COVID, pneumonia, and CF patients. Local candidates within 50 miles preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of experience in respiratory therapy.
• Current SC state license required (license if applicable).
• BLS, CRT, NRP, and RRT certifications required.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift community hospital position requiring 2 years of experience and NRP certification.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Current SC state license required (license required if applicable)
• Certifications required: BLS, CRT, NRP, RRT
• ACLS and PALS preferred
• Meditech EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of the facility
• Valid state license required at time of submission

Responsibilities

• Community hospital setting within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Floating within the hospital is expected due to high patient-to-caregiver ratios
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff
• Provide respiratory therapy services including ventilator management, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Care for patients with conditions such as ARDS, COVID, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis
• Experience with neonatal and pediatric equipment and procedures preferred
• Facility will not accept candidates with background or licensure hits
• Local candidates not accepted outside the 50 mile radius
• Minimal to no RTO permitted; any time off must be approved prior to assignment start and discussed during interview
• Previous employees must have been separated for at least 1 year and in good standing to be considered for return
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for this role
