American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for a day shift at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital..Position requires NICU Level IV or Peds ICU experience, with 3x12 hour days and 7:00 AM-7:30 PM shifts.

Candidate must have RRT with NBRC/SC options, BLS/PALS/NRP, and 2-3 years of pediatric experience. Travel support and rotation/onsite requirements apply.

Qualifications

• RRT certification required; NBRC and SC RCP accepted.
• BLS, PALS and NRP certifications required.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in pediatric respiratory care.
• NICU Level IV experience required; Peds ICU experience considered.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for pediatric and neonatal patients requiring respiratory support in NICU, PICU, and pediatrics.
• Work as part of a pediatric critical care team within a teaching hospital.
• Operate in a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital environment.
• Shift schedule is 3x12 hour days, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM with holiday rotation.
• Float within scope; Epic used for charting; hurricane season readiness for travelers.
• Adhere to facility policies including scrub color and attendance requirements.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with NICU Level IV or Peds ICU experience for a day shift position at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

Requirements

• RRT certification required (NBRC and SC RCP accepted)
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience required
• NICU Level IV experience required, though Peds ICU experience will be considered
• Epic experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Experience with bronchoscopy care preferred
• Experience with airway management devices, suctioning, and extubation required
• SC RRT license required if applicable, must be in hand at time of start
• Full SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Pediatric Respiratory Therapy unit at a teaching, Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Work setting includes NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics
• Shift schedule is 3x12 hour days, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Holiday rotation required
• Weekend requirement is every other weekend
• No on‑call requirement
• Floating within scope may be required depending on experience
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Care for pediatric and neonatal patients requiring respiratory support
• Work as part of a pediatric critical care team within a teaching hospital environment
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required
• First‑time travelers will be considered
• Previous MUSC staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application and is subject to manager approval
• Local candidates accepted on a case‑by‑case basis
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with priority given to non‑local candidates
• Travelers may be required to participate in hurricane season emergency response activities between June and November
• Completion of online training modules required prior to start
