Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU position in a Level I Trauma setting in Albuquerque, NM. The role requires RRT certification, BLS/ACLS/NRP, and a minimum of 2 years of experience, with NICU and pediatric critical care skills.

Day shift 3x12 hours (6:00–18:30) with 6–10 ventilated patients on average; occasional weekend coverage and floating to the adult RRT unit as needed. Cerner charting, royal blue scrubs, and holiday bundles apply.

Qualifications

• RRT certification required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• NM license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• NICU and pediatric critical care skills essential
• Endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, suctioning of airways; ABG interpretation

Responsibilities

• NICU setting within a Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital
• Average daily census of 6-10 ventilated patients
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:00 to 18:30
• Weekend work required as needed by the unit, with no more than 3 consecutive weekends
• Floating to the adult RRT unit as needed to meet facility needs
• Uses Cerner for charting
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Must work 2 of the 3 designated holiday bundles: Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve/Day
• COVID vaccine optional, but documentation or declination must be submitted
• First-time travelers accepted
• Pending license accepted
• Local candidates not accepted within 100 miles of the facility
• Time off requests greater than 7 days require approval
