Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for NICU coverage in South Carolina. The role requires RRT, BLS/NRP/PALS, and SC licensure with 3+ years in NICU/Pediatrics.

You will work day shifts on a 3x12 schedule (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) with possible float to PICU/Pediatrics and high-risk deliveries, using neonatal respiratory equipment and EPIC charting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience; 1–2 years may be considered case-by-case.
• RRT certification required.
• BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required.
• SC state licensure required if applicable.
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric intubation and oscillating ventilators.

Responsibilities

• NICU unit within a hospital setting with ability to float to PICU and Pediatrics as needed.
• Patient ratio of 1:8.
• Neonatal/pediatric population including high risk deliveries, RSV, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and more.
• Utilizes oscillating and pressure/volume ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and other neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment.
• EPIC charting system used, recent experience preferred but not required.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Provide respiratory care for neonatal and pediatric patients including assistance with high-risk deliveries and ventilator management.
• Perform pass/fail Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test during orientation with one opportunity to pass.
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position.
• Previous SRHS permanent staff are not eligible to return as travelers to any SRHS facility.
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; requests made afterward will not be accommodated.
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible.

• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in medication delivery, airway management, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric intubation and oscillating ventilators
