Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of pediatric hospital experience and Level III/IV NICU exposure for a day shift assignment.

Position includes NICU exposure, day shifts (3x12s: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM), and travel requirements with competitive pay and benefits. Ohio-based candidate is preferred, with state license if applicable and required certifications.

Qualifications

• RRT certification required.
• BLS and PALS certifications required.
• OH state license required if applicable.
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric hospital experience.
• Level III/IV NICU experience required.
• Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Experience with ABG interpretation.
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric airway management and suctioning.
• Experience with medication delivery systems including nebulizers, MDIs, and aerosol setups.
• Two supervisory references, with at least one manager or supervisor titled.

Responsibilities

• Pediatric hospital setting including NICU and Pediatric Critical Care units.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Floating required to different units depending on assignment needs
• Works with Nitric Oxide (iNO) therapy and medication administration
• Utilizes ventilator management equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and high frequency oscillators
• Performs airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Provide respiratory care to pediatric and neonatal patients including Ped Cardiac ICU cases
• Perform sputum specimen collection and tracheostomy care/management
• Candidates who have worked in a permanent position at the facility within the last 2 years are not eligible
• 60-mile radius rule applies for local candidates
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
