Job summary

Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist licensed in CA (CRT/RRT).
• High school diploma required.
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred.
• Ventilator unit experience required; LTC or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promotes healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care and education.
• Administers respiratory care including ventilation, oxygen monitoring and airway management.
• Sets up and uses medical gases, humidification, medications and ventilatory support as needed.
• Oversees rehab department management, case management and quality improvement.
• Coordinates with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care into daily practice.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates respiratory therapy care and life support.
• Manages equipment coordination, orders, and documentation; communicates changes in resident condition.
• Develops discharge plans and tracks preventive maintenance for equipment.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and records.
