Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift travel assignment. Requires Epic EMR experience and 1+ year of respiratory therapy experience.

Position includes a 13-week CRT unit assignment, 3x12 hour nights, and a patient ratio of 1:4 in adult critical care and ED settings. Weekend coverage and holiday work are required; housing and stipends may be provided.

Qualifications

• Current CRT or RRT certification.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Level III NICU experience a plus.
• License required if applicable.
• Driver's license required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• 13-week assignment in the CRT unit.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:30-07:00) or (0630-1900/1830-0700).
• Adult critical care and emergency department settings.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Weekend coverage every other weekend.
• Performs airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care.
• Manages ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
• Administers nebulizer treatments and oxygen therapy including HFNC.
• No on-call requirement.
• Responsible for airway management, suctioning, and specimen collection as needed.
• May be assigned to an emergency response team during facility emergencies, with expectation to remain onsite or serve on relief teams.
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually.
• Black scrub color required.
• Orientation held 5 days a week.
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have 1+ years of experience.
• Does not accept local candidates; must live more than 65 miles from the facility.
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the facility for 1 full year before returning as a traveler.
• RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission.
