Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist II with RRT certification for a 13-week hospital contract in North Carolina. The clinician will provide advanced respiratory and airway management care, shift 7:00am-7:00pm, and support critical care patients.

The role requires at least 2 years of RT experience, NBRC-registered RRT, BLS, and additional certifications (ACLS/NRP/PALS/CPFT). Strong documentation and communication skills are essential, with eligibility for licensure in North

Qualifications

• Current NBRC-registered RRT is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, or CPFT certifications optional depending on practice area.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical and technical information.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy department role.
• Days shift, 7:00am-7:00pm.
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week.
• Every other weekend required.
• Holiday coverage required.
• No on-call requirement.
• Performs airway management, mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy.
• May perform tracheostomy care and related procedures.
• May perform basic bedside pulmonary function testing and arterial punctures.
• May participate in Carolina Air Care transport per UNC Air Care Protocol.
• May manage ECMO for cardiac and respiratory support.
• Delivers advanced respiratory care including ventilator modes and weaning.
• Functions independently with minimal supervision and serves as a resource.
• May perform advanced procedures per UNC protocol including invasive lines and chest procedures.
• Maintains and improves job knowledge and clinical skills.

• Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC required
• BLS certification required
• At least one of the following certifications required depending on practice area: ACLS, NRP, PALS, or CPFT
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical and technical information
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• License required if applicable

• Delivers advanced respiratory care including specialized ventilator modes and weaning techniques
• Functions independently with minimal supervision and serves as a resource to other staff
• May perform advanced procedures per UNC Air Care Protocol including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, intraosseous insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, and ABGs
• Maintains and continually improves job knowledge and clinical skills
