Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of experience and RRT certification for a 13-week acute care assignment across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in Frisco, Colorado, with a lead-therapist structure and no on-call requirements.

The role requires nursery, ED, and inpatient exposure, the ability to draw ABGs, perform EKGs, and operate ventilation/heated high-flow devices, with options for self- and block-scheduling.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience in acute care settings.
• RRT certification (NBRC) and multiple AHA certifications required.
• Licensed to practice respiratory therapy where applicable.
• Experience with neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide RT involvement in acute care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Cover inpatient, ER, LDRP, and occasional PACU areas.
• Perform ABG draws, EKGs, and manage vents and high-flow devices.
• Operate with a Lead Therapist, no regular on-site manager supervision.
• No call or floating requirements; self- and block-scheduling eligible.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of experience and RRT certification for a 13-week acute care assignment supporting adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS (AHA), NRP, and RRT via NBRC
• License required if applicable
• Experience in nursery, ED, and inpatient settings required
• Only required to assist with intubation, not perform independently
• Able to draw ABGs, perform EKGs, administer breathing treatments, and manage vents, heated high flow, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Experience providing nursery and C-section support and home O2 setup
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within the Respiratory Therapy department
• Patient population includes adults, pediatrics, and neonates
• Covers inpatient, ER, LDRP, and occasionally PACU areas
• Variable number of treatments per day
• Uses Epic EMR
• Equipment includes Hamilton and PB980 ventilators and V-30 high flow devices
• Day shift schedule, 6:30am-7:00pm, 12-hour shifts
• Weekend coverage expected on occasion
• Will always be the sole RT in-house
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
• No call or standby call requirements
• No floating required
• Works under a Lead Therapist structure rather than a Respiratory Manager or Supervisor
• Hospitalist not in-house 24 hours a day; Intensivist available via telehealth only
• Department-specific orientation lasts 2-3 weeks
• Clinicians should plan to be in-state for orientation week, even if initial modules are remote
• One major winter holiday coverage expected
• RTs wear hospital-laundered blue scrubs
• First-time travelers will be considered
