Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support micro-fulfillment systems in live customer environments, troubleshooting electro-mechanical hardware and diagnosing issues across robotic and conveyor platforms to ensure maximum uptime.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires proactive problem solving, ownership, and collaboration with customers and internal teams to maximize performance and uptime of automated systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electro-mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience supporting automated systems in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environments.
• Advanced troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, conveyors, robotics, electrical circuitry and control panels.
• Experience in live operational environments with uptime impact and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system performance, alarms, metrics, and reliability trends at customer sites.
• Lead structured root cause investigations for recurring issues.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for PLCs, robotics, conveyors, and automation hardware.
• Collaborate with HW, SW, Systems Engineering and Ops to improve reliability and uptime.
• Support customer communications during significant events while staying professional.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement.
