Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking an entry-level Heavy Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems at various locations. The role involves frequent travel and physical work in outdoor environments.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of experience, be able to read and communicate in English, and be willing to obtain a CDL permit within 60 days. Flexibility for overtime and travel is required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in construction or electrical line work
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
• Must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment
• Willing to travel long distances and work at various locations
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs
• Willing to work overtime and irregular hours

Responsibilities

• Perform safety-first construction, maintenance or repair of overhead lines
• String overhead wire and set poles/anchors
• Assist with installing transformers, arrestors, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear
• Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits and systems
• Work with energized high voltage systems with care for personal and team safety
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good condition
• Capable of performing basic bucket rescue/escape
• Understand flag and tag procedures and proper grounding
