Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an entry-level Transmission Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. The role involves travel to other states as needed, and work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.

The position requires 1–2 years of experience, English literacy, and the ability to lift heavy loads. CDL permit within 60 days is required, with CDL preferred. Overtime and long-distance travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in related field.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain CDL permit within 60 days of employment; CDL preferred.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift 50 lbs or more.
• Willing to work overtime and variable hours.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on new construction, maintenance or repair of overhead lines.
• String overhead wire and set poles/anchors.
• Assist installing transformers, crossarms, insulators and switches.
• Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment and PPE in good working order.
• Work at heights and in confined spaces as required.
• Understand basic rigging, hand lines and lineman knots.
