Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking an entry-level Heavy Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electric transmission systems. The role travels to multiple sites and may require travel to another state based on customer needs.

Responsibilities include installing and setting poles, stringing overhead wire, assisting with transformers and switches, and performing rigorous physical labor while following safety rules. CDL permit within 60 days is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must read and communicate effectively in English.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work outside of normal schedule including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on energized and de-energized overhead work.
• String overhead wire and set poles/anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, switches and gear.
• Assist in replacing fuses and faulted circuits.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment and PPE.
• Perform basic bucket rescue/escape.
• Understand equipment setup and grounding.
