Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking an entry-level Heavy Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. The role involves working at various sites and may require travel to other states based on customer needs.

The position requires physical stamina, English communication, and ability to lift 50 lbs. CDL permit within 60 days is preferred, and overtime including weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Must read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
• CDL preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime weekends and holidays.
• Willing to work at various locations and outdoors in all weather.
• Capable of working outside and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance or repair on energized and de-energized overhead lines.
• String overhead wire.
• Set poles and anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, arrestors, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits.
• Work safely around high voltage systems.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good condition.
• Perform physically demanding tasks as required.
• Operate company radio and work with heavy equipment as needed.
