Electric Power Systems (EPS) is hiring a Substation Fiber Technician to perform fiber splicing, termination and testing across multiple Wisconsin sites including Madison. The role requires five years of experience, familiarity with OTDRs and EXFO equipment, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Five years of fiber splicing and testing experience.
• Experience with EXFO fiber equipment preferred.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Current fiber optic certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters.
• Terminate, splice, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to standards.
• Install fiber optic equipment and patch panels.
• Have working knowledge of fiber optics and basic networking.
• Read blueprints, designs and work scopes and adhere to safety standards.
