Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) seeks an experienced Fiber Splicing Technician to terminate, splice, document and test fiber optic lines within customer networks. Five years' experience and proficiency with fiber tools and EXFO equipment preferred; travel is required.

You will read blueprints, perform tests, and ensure safety standards across Wisconsin locations. EPS offers competitive pay and opportunities for professional certification.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience and experience with EXFO fiber equipment preferred.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Current fiber optic certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters.
• Terminate, splice, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to standards.
• Perform installation of fiber optic equipment and patch panels.
• Working knowledge of fiber optics.
• Basic knowledge of networking.
• Proficient in the operation of all related fiber tools and equipment.
• Terminate, splice and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures.
• Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficiently.
• Learn and adhere to all safety standards.
• Must be able to read and understand blue prints, designs and work scopes.
• 5 years previous experience
