Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV. This role requires up to 75% travel and supports regional and national project assignments.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500 kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
